Applerigg is the investment company of the Scott family, whose Provincial Insurance Company, founded in 1903, was sold to UAP in 1994. The family then founded Sandaire to manage its wealth; Sandaire became a multi-family office and was sold to Cazenove in 2020, after which Dr Oliver Sargent became family chairman and set a new strategy. Through the Applerigg Sustainable Growth Fund it invests flexible equity in UK businesses in elderly care, financial services, funeral services and hospitality. The company was incorporated in 2001 as Sand Aire Investment Management Limited and is based at Capital Tower, Waterloo Road, London.
