HOW WE COLLECT

Nothing here is guessed.

Every profile is built from public records and checked before it is published. This page says where the data comes from, how far it has been checked, and what we do with the parts we cannot confirm.

Every claim links to the document it came from.

Dated

Dates belong to the claim, not to the page.

Reviewed

A second pass before a profile is published.

Omitted

What we cannot source stays empty, never estimated.

How a profile gets here

Five steps, in order. A profile is published only when it clears them all.

  1. 00

    Public sources

Official websites, regulatory filings and public registers, and credible press. No surveys, no questionnaires, no scraped contact lists: a record starts from a document anyone can open.

  2. 01

    Field by field

Each source records which fields it supports — founded, team, ticket, portfolio. AUM, ticket size, every person and every portfolio company carries its own link, not a shared footnote.

  3. 02

    The money test

Type answers one question: whose money is it? What an entity calls itself never decides the classification, and an investment arm is its own profile linked to its parent.

  4. 03

    Second review → published

A profile is published only after identity, the money test and every cited source have been opened a second time. Every published profile is verified; each shows the month it was last checked.

  5. 04

    Re-verified over time

Profiles are re-checked on a rolling basis. The last-verified date on each profile tells you exactly when it was last confirmed.

What we don't do

  • No figure without a source. An AUM or ticket we cannot cite is not shown — and not estimated “by eye”.
  • No personal emails or private contact details. Only the channel the office publishes itself.
  • No republishing a claim we could not open. A source that no longer resolves is re-checked or dropped.
  • No paid placement: nothing in the directory is ranked or included because someone paid for it.

About dates

Each profile carries its own last-verified date; sources carry their publication date where they have one. A missing date means we do not know it — not that it is recent.

Every fact is sourced. Updated 2026-10-11.
