About Indexfy
An open directory of investors, sourced and classified.
Indexfy profiles family offices, VCs, private equity and institutional investors worldwide. Every fact cites a primary source, every investor is classified by whose money it invests, and everything here is free to read. The numbers below are live counts.
Principles
What we hold ourselves to
Open by default
Every published profile is free to read, search and link to. No account, no paywall in front of the facts.
Sourced, or left blank
Each fact traces back to a primary source: the firm's own site, regulators or filings. If we can't source it, the field stays empty.
One question, one type
We classify by whose money is invested, never by branding. A filter means the same thing on every page.
Kept current
Profiles are re-checked over time and show the month they were last verified, so you know how fresh a record is.

Taxonomy
Whose money is it?
Every profile has exactly one type, and the type answers only that question.
- Single Family Office 4,623
- Manages one family's own capital, with no outside investors. The family bears every loss.
- Multi Family Office 3,464
- Provides family-office services to several families and invests or allocates their money — through mandates, its own programmes or club deals. Advice-only firms are not listed.
- Family Holding 421
- A family's holding company that owns stakes in several separate businesses or invests beyond its own group, without calling itself a family office.
- Family-anchored Fund 98
- Started with one family's capital but now also manages money for third parties.
- Wealth Manager 0
- A firm that manages private clients' wealth (portfolio management, financial planning) without acting as a family office for specific families. Listed here pending review.
- A fund manager investing capital raised from limited partners into startups.
- A fund manager investing limited-partner capital into mature private companies.
- A corporation investing from its own balance sheet, usually with strategic goals.
- Pension funds, endowments, foundations and sovereign funds that commit capital to funds and, sometimes, directly.
- Individuals investing their own money, organised as a syndicate or club.
- Public money — a state or EU-backed vehicle investing on behalf of taxpayers, often with policy goals.
- Accelerators and venture studios that invest their own or programme capital in very early companies, for equity.
Classification rules
- Type depends only on whose capital is invested, never on branding: a firm that calls itself a family office but pools outside money is classified by that money.
- Investment arms are not a type. A family's or company's venture vehicle is its own profile, linked to its parent.
- A single family office manages no outside capital. A corporate VC names its parent.
- Only investors seeking equity or a financial return are included — not grant-only programmes, service studios or advisers who don't invest their own capital.
- Automated checks enforce these rules on every update; a profile that breaks one is not published.
Monthly releases
Every month we re-check profiles against their primary sources and publish a new release. This timeline shows what each release covered; the detailed list of new and changed records is delivered to subscribers.
