Overview
Groupe Nordmann was founded in Fribourg more than a century ago by the Nordmann family, which still owns it. Originally a retailer operating Manor, Jumbo and Carrefour franchises, it sold its commercial activities from the early 2000s and reinvested in Swiss real estate and international private equity; the November 2025 sale of La Galerie and the Grand-Places car park ended its commercial real estate holdings. It develops mainly residential and logistics projects of CHF 5-30 million in western Swiss cantons, commits to buyout, secondary and co-investment funds in North America and Europe, and holds direct stakes in Swiss companies.
Investment thesis
Real estate: land-led residential and logistics/industrial developments of CHF 5-30 million per operation, alone or in co-investment, mainly in Fribourg, Vaud, Neuchatel, Valais and Bern. Private equity: four to five commitments a year to North American and European managers targeting small and mid-cap mature companies via buyout, secondary and co-investment vehicles.
