Tecity Group

Overview

Tecity Group was founded by the late banker and philanthropist Tan Sri (Dr) Tan Chin Tuan, and its family office began in the 1970s with a group of private investment companies; it calls itself one of the most structured single family offices in Asia. It is led by his grandchildren, Chew Gek Khim (Executive Chairman), Chew Gek Hiang and Chew Kwee San. The group comprises an investment arm (The Tecity Family Office), a listed arm (Straits Trading Company Limited, in which it owns 69.6%), a philanthropic arm (The Tan Chin Tuan Foundation) and the Tan Chin Tuan Mansion. Its portfolio grew from stakes in British-owned companies bought from the mid-1950s, such as Raffles Hotel, Great Eastern Life and Fraser and Neave.
