Overview
Finaosta S.p.A. is the regional finance company of Valle d'Aosta, set up in 1982 under regional law 16/82 (replaced by law 7/06), with EUR 112 million of share capital wholly owned by the region since 2009. With its own equity (“gestione ordinaria”) it makes risk-capital and debt interventions; on the region's behalf (“gestione speciale”) and through regional revolving funds it grants subsidised loans to companies and households. Its shareholdings are mostly regional strategic companies — ski-lift operators, the energy producer CVA, property companies and the factoring firm Aosta Factor — plus a 3.23% stake in Bio4Dreams, a life-sciences startup incubator.
