Overview

Lazio Innova S.p.A. is the in-house company of Regione Lazio, with a minority stake held by the Rome Chamber of Commerce, and manages regional risk-capital funds financed with regional, national and EU resources. Through the FARE Lazio participation fund it runs fund-of-funds programmes that commit to Banca d'Italia-supervised venture funds and direct funds in which it takes minority stakes in startups alongside independent co-investors. Lazio Venture 2 (EUR 100.33M, PR FESR 2021-2027) committed in 2026 to five dedicated Lazio funds and one parallel fund, while the direct fund INNOVA Venture (active 2018–2023) made 48 investments in 36 companies. It also runs grants, credit guarantees and internationalisation services for the region.

Funds and startups operating, or relocating operations, in Lazio; priority to early-stage equity, deep tech, tech transfer and STEP technologies, with private co-investment and asymmetric profit sharing in favour of private investors.
