Overview

Fonchim is the negotiated supplementary pension fund for workers in Italy’s chemical, pharmaceutical and related industries, registered with COVIP as no. 1 and based in Milan. Its net assets grew from €9.2bn to about €9.9bn in 2025, invested mainly through liquid balanced, bond and equity mandates. Private markets are a small sleeve: a €10M commitment (2022) to Fondo di Fondi Private Equity Italia managed by Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR, and from April 2025 private equity and infrastructure fund-of-funds mandates with Neuberger Berman capped at €100M (Stabilità) and €15M (Crescita).
