Overview
Altamir was created in 1995 by Maurice Tchenio to give stock-market investors access to private equity, initially the investments of Apax Partners France. Since 2011 it invests mainly through funds managed by Seven2 and Apax and in co-investments alongside them, and since 2021 also in the Altaroc Odyssey funds and directly in THOM. At 30 June 2026 its portfolio of 68 companies was valued at €1,601.3M and its NAV was €1,239.5M. Eddie Misrahi succeeded Maurice Tchenio as head of the managing partner Altamir Gérance on 1 May 2026. Amboise SAS, controlled by Maurice Tchenio, took 65% of the capital through a 2018 tender offer and held about 70% after a further simplified tender offer in 2025.
