Overview

Aurum Partners, founded in 2014, is the York family's venture capital fund affiliated with the San Francisco 49ers; Brano Perkovich, the 49ers' Chief Investment Officer and a former technology investment banker, is Aurum's co-founder and managing partner. In May 2022 Perkovich described Aurum as the direct investing arm of the family office, with no outside capital or limited partners, investing opportunistically in consumer-centric B2C and B2B2C companies at a pace of about six to eight deals a year with a minimum of about $250,000. Its website now describes it as a venture fund, and portfolio-company releases from November 2025 and May 2026 describe it as the investment fund affiliated with the owners of the San Francisco 49ers and other strategic LPs. The website lists 41 portfolio companies, among them Gusto, Carrot, Sokin, Doppel, Omni and Thrive Global as active holdings and Allbirds, Dropbox, FanDuel, Figma, Chime, Superhuman and Turo as exits; its newest disclosed investment is Graphon AI's US$8.3M seed round (May 2026).

Investment thesis

Says it is stage- and industry-agnostic and opportunistic rather than thematic, with football and sports networks at the core and a consumer-centric lens (B2C or B2B2C); it seeks companies where it can add enterprise distribution, cultural reach and capital introductions beyond writing a check.
