Overview

Groupe Artémis is the investment company of the Pinault family, founded in 1992 when François Pinault transferred his controlling stake in PPR (now Kering) into it. Its website says it invests for the long term in companies with strong growth potential, prefers controlling stakes but also takes minority positions, particularly in tech, and puts its consolidated assets at some €60 billion. Holdings include Kering, Creative Artists Agency (majority since September 2023), Christie's, Ponant, Le Point, Courrèges and Artemis Domaines; in tech it takes direct minority stakes and invests through the Red River West fund it created in 2017. In February 2025 it became the second shareholder of publishing group Les Nouveaux Éditeurs, and on 27 January 2026 it confirmed the sale of a 29.06% stake in Puma to Anta Sports to concentrate on assets it controls.

Investment thesis

Invests in companies of all sizes regardless of sector that have strong growth potential and the ability to lead their markets; prefers controlling stakes that give it decisive influence over strategy, but does not rule out minority investments, particularly in tech.
