Overview

Serafin Unternehmensgruppe GmbH in Munich was founded in 2010 by Philipp Haindl with the founding partners Falk Daum and Dino Kitzinger, continuing the entrepreneurial tradition of the Haindl family, once Germany's largest paper maker. The group invests exclusively its own funds in established companies, buying voting majorities in carve-outs, succession cases and Mittelstand companies in transition, and holds them long term. Its companies include Heller Tools, CONICA, suki group, BHS tabletop, RCR Industrial Flooring, Exolon (a former Covestro unit), Jäger, OTB and, since September 2026, the Swiss electrical contractor Jaisli-Xamax. The group passed €1bn in revenue in 2022.

Investment thesis

Invests exclusively its own funds in established companies with potential, long term and without pressure to sell: acquires voting majorities in corporate carve-outs and companies with €20–200m revenue in attractive niches, in succession situations, Mittelstand companies in transition and MBI/MBO cases, with up to €40m equity per transaction; builds platforms through buy-and-build.
