Overview
Zawawi Group was established in 1975 by the late Qais bin Abdulmunim Al Zawawi, Oman's former foreign affairs minister and Deputy Prime Minister for Financial and Economic Affairs, who built it as a family business. It describes a portfolio of more than 20 companies, including Muscat Pharmacy & Stores, Zahara Travel, Carillion Alawi, Zawawi Minerals, LBH Zawawi Shipping and DHL Oman, and says it manages about 800 residential units. In 2019 its subsidiaries formed a joint venture with EDF and acquired the Desert Palm Resort in Wahiba Sands.
