Overview

Viridium is a German consolidator of closed life-insurance books, run by Viridium Holding AG in Neu-Isenburg; its four life insurers are Proxalto, Heidelberger Leben, Skandia Leben and Entis, with around €67bn of assets under management at end-2025. Since 1 August 2025 the group has been owned by Viridium Group S.à r.l. (Luxembourg), held by a consortium led by T&D Holdings with Allianz, BlackRock, Generali Financial Holdings, Santander Insurance and PG3, after Cinven and Hannover Re exited in a deal worth about €3.5bn. Its 2025 annual report says the investment strategy was expanded to include a platform for alternative investments; Proxalto has outstanding commitments to private equity and real estate and holds units of North Haven Infrastructure Partners. An Alternative Investments team manages the alternative-debt book (infrastructure, real estate, mortgage, corporate and specialty-finance credit) and makes selective co-investments and secondary investments.
