Overview

Amundi Transition Énergétique (Amundi Energy Transition) is an AMF-authorised management company created in 2016 as a joint venture of Amundi (60%) and EDF (40%) and now described as a wholly owned Amundi subsidiary. It makes direct equity investments in unlisted European energy-transition infrastructure under a buy-and-build core/core+ strategy: renewable generation (wind, solar, hydro, biogas), heat networks, cogeneration, storage, electric mobility and energy renovation. Its funds include Amundi Energy Transition Alba I (€201.3M, launched 2017, backed by the EIB) and the retail FCPR Amundi Infrastructures Transition Énergétique distributed by Crédit Agricole.

Investment thesis

Long-term (buy-and-hold) equity in energy-transition infrastructure, often alongside industrial partners: renewable production, energy distribution and efficiency, and consumption-side infrastructure such as EV charging and smart meters, mainly in France.
