Overview

F2i SGR is an independent Italian infrastructure asset manager founded in 2007, owned by 19 shareholders including banking foundations, banks, public institutions, pension funds, a sovereign wealth fund and asset managers. Its funds, reserved for institutional investors and family offices, have raised €11 billion since inception and take controlling or significant stakes in Italian infrastructure operators in energy for transition, digital infrastructure, transport and logistics, circular economy, social and healthcare infrastructure and distribution networks, following buy-and-consolidate and buy-and-build strategies. Holdings include airports such as SEA (Milan), Naples, Turin and Olbia, Sorgenia, IGS, EI Towers and a stake in FiberCop. Since 2022 it has also run infrastructure debt funds, and AUM reached €8.3 billion in 2024.

Investment thesis

Diversified portfolio of infrastructure essential to the economy, actively managed with industrial strategies: buy-and-consolidate of small and mid-sized operators in fragmented sectors and buy-and-build of new projects through portfolio companies; infrastructure debt in Italy and Europe through separate debt funds.
