WHAT IT IS
Private Equity Fund. A fund manager investing limited-partner capital into mature private companies.
ABOUT
Fidelium is a Munich-based operational private equity investor that takes majority stakes (at least 75%) in companies with operational improvement potential, corporate carve-outs and special situations such as succession, MBO/MBI or turnarounds. It manages two funds of German entrepreneurial families with total AuM of €253 million; the current Fund II has €150 million available for acquisitions, follow-ons and add-ons, and the team invests substantial own money. Targets have €75–750 million revenue and EBITDA margins of 0–15%, across industry, chemicals, consumer goods, business services and TMT in Europe, with equity of up to €30 million per deal. Fidelium GmbH is registered with BaFin as an external AIF management company under § 44 KAGB.
INVESTMENT THESIS
Looks for companies with a healthy core facing entrepreneurial challenges, where hands-on operational support (efficiency programmes, carve-out separation, buy-and-build) can transform and reposition the business; avoids venture capital, minority stakes and insolvencies.
