Overview
Kartesia is a European asset manager specialised in private corporate lending, founded in 2013 by partners who had run the Altercap credit funds at LBO France. Its funds are managed by Kartesia Management S.à r.l., an AIFM in Leudelange regulated by the CSSF, and it has offices in cities including Paris, Brussels, London, Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan, Munich and Amsterdam. It provides unitranche, senior and capital solutions of €10–150M to European lower mid-market borrowers, and became majority shareholder of asset-based lender Flexam Invest in 2023. In September 2026 it priced its first CLO, Kartesia CLO I (€459M); the same release says New York Life Investment Management and Candriam announced earlier in 2026 that they were raising their stake in Kartesia from 33% to 80%.
Investment thesis
Tailor-made long-term liquidity and credit solutions for European lower mid-market borrowers, typically sponsor-backed, with tickets of €10–150M and a focus on downside protection.
