Overview
Eatable Adventures is a Madrid-based accelerator, innovation partner and investor in agrifood and food technology, led by founder and CEO José Luis Cabañero and Mila Valcárcel. It runs acceleration programmes and innovation hubs for corporates and governments in Spain, Italy and Latin America, including Spain Foodtech with ICEX and CNTA, FoodSeed in Italy with CDP Venture Capital, and Raíces for Spanish-speaking startups. In January 2024 it launched the €30M Europe Foodtech Acceleration Fund I SCSp, with €6M initially committed to nine startups, and in 2021 it announced the €50M Eatable Evolution Fund FCR I for seed and Series A. Forbes España reported that Raíces startups can receive an initial €100,000 and up to €1M from Eatable Adventures’ fund, whose limited partners include food companies from Spain and Latin America.
Investment thesis
Early-stage agrifood and deep-tech startups built inside the food system — ingredients, bioprocessing, food preservation, next-generation farming and food-service technology — validated through industrial pilots with corporate partners before capital is deployed.
