ABOUT
Défense Angels is a 1901-law association founded by Guy Gourevitch, then president of France Angels, and François Mattens, formerly of the defence-industry body GICAT, and officially launched on 16 February 2022 at the Agence de l’Innovation de Défense. Members join the network, take part in monthly investment committees and co-invest directly from €5,000 per deal in startups working on defence, security, aerospace, energy, cyber, AI, quantum, robotics and materials. In 2025 it created DAEN, a European network of defence-focused business angels.
INVESTMENT THESIS
Startups developing strategic, critical or dual-use technologies, from seed to later structuring rounds, in six domains: defence and security; aeronautics and space; energy and nuclear; cyber, AI and computing; robotics and materials; advanced technologies (resilient communications, quantum, optronics, sensors). Network ticket €50k–€300k.
