Overview
Forinvest Business Angels is a non-profit association set up in 2010 at the initiative of Fransylva, the federation of private forest owners. Its members, 90% of them forest owners, invest in companies across the French forest-wood chain. They invest directly in equity or bonds, or indirectly through investment companies created by the network (Forinvest Capital 1 and 2). In 2021 it launched the Fonds Développement Filière Bois with IDIA Capital Investissement (Crédit Agricole), allowing tickets of up to €3.5M. The network reports more than €10M invested since 2010.
Investment thesis
Finances companies that process and add value to French wood and forest resources, from logging and first and second processing to wood construction, wood energy, wood chemistry, machinery and digital tools, at seed or development stage, with equity or quasi-equity over 7 to 10 years.
