WHAT IT IS

Corporate VC. A corporation investing from its own balance sheet, usually with strategic goals.

ABOUT

Bouygues Développement describes itself as the corporate venture structure of the Bouygues group. Group subsidiaries invest in startups through their own vehicles (Construction Venture, Bouygues Immobilier Recherche et Développement, CIB Développement, One Inno, Bouygues Telecom Initiatives), and the central team analyses, negotiates and monitors those stakes; it reports more than 40 investments since 2009. Initial tickets run from €100k to over €1M for 5–20% stakes in seed and Series A rounds, with a board seat required. Since 2023 Bouygues also invests through ISAI Build Venture, an €80M corporate fund run by ISAI.

INVESTMENT THESIS

Seed and Series A capital increases, alone or with co-investors, in startups linked to the group’s businesses (construction, property, roads, media, telecoms); 5–20% target stakes with a board seat.
