Overview
Orano Venture Fund is the corporate venture fund that the nuclear fuel-cycle group Orano launched in March 2024 with €50 million of its own money, entrusting its management to the deeptech investor Supernova Invest. It backs European deeptech startups at seed and Series A stage in the circular economy (recycling and production of strategic materials, by-product valorisation, materials traceability) and advanced industrial technologies, and gives them access to Orano’s expertise and industrial infrastructure. Its first investment, announced in October 2024, was in DessIA, a French AI software platform for engineering automation, as part of a €3 million round.
Investment thesis
European deeptech startups at seed and Series A aligned with Orano’s strategy: cutting-edge technologies for industrial performance and safety, technologies for advanced engineering, and sustainable chemistry and next-generation circular solutions.
