Overview
Groupe Labruyère is a family-owned group based in Mâcon whose four main businesses are wine estates (Jacques Prieur, Château Rouget, Champagne J.M. Labruyère), commercial real estate, hospitality and private equity. Its private equity activity, started in 2004, has been grouped since 2017 in Labruyère Développement et Industries (LDI), which invests the group's own funds in companies with €10–100M revenue, as majority owner in turnaround situations or as minority shareholder in club deals with other family investors. The group is reference shareholder of hotel group H8 Collection and acquired Paris coffee roaster Coutume in 2020, and it also manages a pocket of listed and unlisted financial assets, directly or through funds.
Investment thesis
LDI targets companies with €10–100M revenue and invests €1–15M: majority, hands-on positions in complex or distressed situations, and minority club-deal stakes in more mature companies alongside other family shareholders; seed and pure financial plays are not described.
