Overview

Korys describes itself as the entrepreneurial investment company of the Colruyt family, formally established in 2012 and headquartered in Halle, Belgium, with a team of 30 professionals in Belgium and India. It invests through direct participations, private equity funds and liquid investments (multi-asset and listed equities) in three ecosystems: Conscious Consumer, Energy Transition and Healthy Living. In a January 2025 press release it stated a portfolio of more than €4 billion of sustainable investments built over 20 years, including Colruyt Group, Virya Energy and more than 20 direct participations. For technology companies it looks for European-based start-ups and scale-ups with proven product-market fit, and for consumer companies growing and mature businesses with significant commercial traction. Recent deals include co-leading a €43 million round in Entrix (March 2026) and participating in Ona Therapeutics' $86.6 million Series B (June 2026); in January 2025 it sold Sensorfact to ABB.

Investment thesis

Partners with values-driven entrepreneurs and companies that develop solutions for conscious consumption (alternative proteins, local food, healthy leisure, innovative retail and platforms for sustainable consumption), boost healthy living (prevention, diagnosis and innovative treatments such as green and red biotechnologies) and further enable the energy transition (renewable assets in solar, wind and hydrogen, and enabling technologies).
