WHAT IT IS

Private Equity Fund. A fund manager investing limited-partner capital into mature private companies.

ABOUT

GBK Beteiligungen AG is one of Germany's oldest investment companies, founded in Hamburg in 1969 as Ge Be Ka Gesellschaft für Beteiligungen und Kapitalverwaltung and converted to a stock corporation in 1998; its shares trade on the Freiverkehr of several German exchanges and Tradegate. It invests its shareholders' capital in Mittelstand companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, mostly as a co-investor in deals offered since 2002 by its adviser Hannover Finanz GmbH, through open equity and/or mezzanine. At end-2025 it held 27 investments with a fair value of €39.1m and equity of about €50m. Since 2014 it has been a BaFin-registered internally managed AIF Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft.

INVESTMENT THESIS

Co-investments in established Mittelstand companies from production, services and trade in the DACH region, focused on succession (MBO/MBI), shareholder changes, spin-offs and growth financing, plus support for fundamentally sound companies in difficult situations; typically no operational involvement, influence via advisory or supervisory boards.
