Overview
ÖKORENTA was founded in 1999 by Tjark Goldenstein as a distributor of renewable-energy investments, issued its first portfolio fund in 2005 and was regulated under the KAGB from 2013. Its funds buy minority or majority stakes (1-100%) in existing and new wind and solar parks and storage, bundling many parks per fund; 33 funds have been issued and their portfolios hold 212 energy parks, mostly in Germany. Since April 2018 the funds are managed by its own BaFin-authorised KVG, Auricher Werte GmbH, which issues closed-ended retail AIFs (ÖKORENTA Erneuerbare Energien series), Spezial-AIFs for professional, semi-professional and charitable investors, and individual mandates from EUR 3m. The group holding became ÖKORENTA Invest AG in 2025; the group has about 59 staff in Aurich, Leer and Kirchheim near Munich and manages EUR 486m of equity.
Investment thesis
Diversified portfolio funds of stakes in German wind and solar parks and battery storage, bought from developers and operators (minority or majority, developers may keep operations), using an in-house valuation database built on data from several hundred parks.
