Overview

Heal Capital is a venture capital fund for digital health launched in 2020 on the initiative of the Verband der Privaten Krankenversicherung (PKV), with more than 20 private health insurers investing over EUR 100m in its first fund. The successor fund Heal Capital 2 has been investing since early 2025; besides PKV insurers its investors include the European Investment Fund and the MEDICE Health Family, with a target volume of EUR 150m. The funds back early-stage European companies in diagnostics, therapy and healthcare infrastructure and say they also help start-ups gain access to the German healthcare system. The management company, heal.capital Management GmbH, is an EuVECA manager registered with BaFin.

Investment thesis

Digital business models at the interface of healthcare and technology/AI (diagnostics, therapy, infrastructure) that already participate in the market at an early stage, supported with know-how on access to medical care.
