Overview
Kfund was launched in October 2016 with a €50m first fund backed by the European Investment Fund and private investors, with Iñaki Arrola, founder of coches.com, and Carina Szpilka, formerly CEO of ING Direct Spain, in its founding team. Its manager, Kanoar Ventures SGEIC, has run a family of funds covering pre-seed (K Founders Preseed), early stage (K Fund I–III) and early growth (Lead Wind). In June 2024 it passed €70m of commitments for K3, its sixth fund, and in April 2026 launched K Founders Preseed II (about €20m, initial tickets around €300,000). Practically all its investments are in southern Europe.
Investment thesis
Backs founders from pre-seed to Series B with tickets from €100,000 to €10m, almost entirely in southern Europe, on the view that AI, data analytics, edge computing, 5G, blockchain and cloud services will reshape industries.
