ABOUT

Paris Business Angels (PBA) is a non-profit association of about 200 business angels, one third entrepreneurs and two thirds senior executives, who invest their own money in French start-ups from pre-seed to Series A, mainly at seed. Each member decides on his or her own investments (minimum €10k, €5k for young members); three members and a staff investment officer instruct each deal through to closing, and PBA takes no commission or carried interest. It reports €60M invested in 210 start-ups since 2004, about €4M a year, with collective tickets of €150k–€1M in rounds of €500k–€5M. A permanent team of four supports the network.

Sector-agnostic with a strong tech and B2B orientation (deeptech, AI, B2B); national coverage; pre-seed to Series A, preferably seed; €150k–€1M per deal (€350k on average) in rounds of €500k–€5M; about ten investments a year from 1,500–2,000 applications.
