Overview
Buenavista Equity Partners Portugal is the Lisbon-based venture capital management company of Buenavista Equity Partners, an independent Iberian lower mid-market investment group founded in 1996 (formerly GED Capital) that manages around €1.3B across private equity, venture capital and infrastructure vehicles for more than 800 investors, with offices in Madrid and Lisbon. GED Capital announced its rebrand to Buenavista Equity Partners in October 2024, with its funds and management companies adopting the new name. Partners Bibi Sattar Marques and Francisco Lino Marques joined in 2021 to develop the Portuguese venture capital arm, which manages Buenavista Tech Seed (ex-GED Tech Seed), a €100M fund that closed its investment period in February 2024, investing in seed and post-seed rounds of Portuguese startups with high R&D spending certified by ANI, mainly in health tech, biotech, clean tech and digital. Together with the GED Tech Growth fund it invested in 13 startups in its first year, with tickets between €0.2M and €7.5M; investments include Unbabel, Indie Campers, Weezie, PluggableAI and Hoopers.
