Overview

Oyster Bay Venture Capital is a Hamburg venture capital firm managed by Oyster Bay Management GmbH, founded in 2018 by Christoph Miller; Felix Leonhardt, a founder from its first portfolio, later joined as Managing Partner. It invests in impact-driven companies across the food value chain, from agtech and food-tech to better-for-you food and beverage brands, typically as lead investor with initial checks of EUR 1–5m and follow-on reserves. Its first fund backed Oatly, air up and True Gum; Fund II reached a final close of more than EUR 100m in November 2025 with the EIF and KfW among its investors.

Investment thesis

Impact-driven companies along the food value chain (ag-tech, food-tech products and services, innovative and better-for-you food and beverage); Seed and Series A, opportunistically earlier or later up to Series B; 1–2 new investments per quarter, preferably as lead, following on in the next two rounds; team first, then positive impact per its own framework, then a healthy business model with traction.
