Overview
Spacewalk is a Munich-based deep-tech venture capital fund managed by Spacewalk Management GmbH, which presents itself as 'the deep tech fund with its own R&D company'. It was launched in May 2022 by the R&D service company Motius (renamed eigenblue) with a €35M target and a first closing in 2022, initially to back spin-offs from Motius projects and other early-stage deep-tech startups. It invests at pre-seed and seed in next-generation AI, future of compute, intelligent automation and national technology sovereignty, and shares an address and leadership with eigenblue.
Investment thesis
Pre-seed and seed deep-tech companies building where bits meet atoms, in four frontiers: next-gen AI beyond LLMs, future of compute (chips, new materials, photonics), intelligent automation of the physical world, and national technology sovereignty in critical infrastructure; hardware welcome, application engineering generally not.
