Overview

Super Capital began in 2018 as a newsletter by Corentin Orsini connecting startups with business angels; Thibaut Gimenez joined to build a direct-investment activity through investment companies funded by members of their network. Its venture-capital companies (sociétés de capital-risque) invest €50–100k in about 30 pre-seed and seed tech startups a year, with SCR investors voting on deals, and follow on at seed and Series A through club-deal SPVs with tickets up to €500k. It also runs a club of more than 2,000 investors who invest directly in selected startups, and non-dilutive financing and part-time CFO services. It says it has financed more than 400 companies.

Investment thesis

Generalist tech, pre-seed to Series A: SaaS B2B, fintech, marketplaces, AI, defence and space, consumer, energy and climate. Invests as a follower, never more than 10% of a round, without board seats; reinvests in the top 20% of the portfolio via club deals. Over 20 international deals since 2020, notably in India; also Africa.
