ABOUT

Wind is a Paris venture capital firm founded in 2015 by serial entrepreneurs Thierry Vandewalle and Xavier Gury, who first invested their own money in more than 80 startups through Wind Capital I, a €23M evergreen vehicle. Its second fund, Wind II, an Article 9 FCPI and the first open to outside investors, announced a €90M first close in June 2024 toward a €130M target, with LPs including the EIF, Bpifrance, BNP Paribas and Sopra Steria. It invests in European deeptech for climate resilience and, since September 2025 through the Technologies Souveraines fund, in AI, cybersecurity, space and defence. It states tickets of €100K to €5M from pre-seed to Series B.

Backs European deeptech in air quality, food, water and waste systems, clean energy, sustainable mobility and industry, advanced materials and disaster resilience, plus sovereign technologies (AI, quantum, semiconductors, space, cybersecurity, defence).
