ABOUT

Business Angels FrankfurtRheinMain e.V. is a Frankfurt-based association that has brought business angels and startups together for more than 20 years and has about 150 members. It runs around 25 events a year, including a monthly matching event where four to six selected startups pitch to 15 to 30 angels, plus Series A matching, cluster pitches and an accelerator and incubator pitch for Hesse. Members invest their own money individually; over 90% of their investments are syndicated with other members or outside angels, VCs and banks, and the association takes no commission. It lists a selection of members' holdings on its site, from Lieferando and Fashionette to recent rounds in Twinetic, Volateq and MELT-Ing.

INVESTMENT THESIS

Startups and growth companies with an elaborated concept already in execution, from the Rhine-Main region (small advantage) and the rest of Germany; monthly matching for capital needs up to about EUR 500k, separate Series A/B matching, and focus clusters for life sciences/eHealth and sustainability.
