Overview

Occitanie Angels is the regional business-angel association of Occitanie, formed in summer 2025 by the merger of Capitole Angels (Toulouse) and MELIES Business Angels (Montpellier), whose activity dates back to 2006. With about 200 investor members and offices in Montpellier and Toulouse, it backs innovative startups based in Occitanie at their first real equity round. Members invest individually after pitch, analysis and investment-committee stages; the network says its members have financed about 110 startups for €20M since 2006, and invested €1.2M in 2025. Companies backed include APS, Avrio MedTech, Wemet, Cilcare and School Mouv (sold to Sofatutor in 2026).

Investment thesis

Startups based in Occitanie raising their first real equity round of at least €200k, at a pre-money valuation up to €4M, with a proof of concept and commercial traction (or a deep-tech with a validated business model); 3–6 months from submission to closing.
