Overview

Aldea Ventures was launched in Barcelona in 2020 by Gonzalo Rodés, Carlos Trenchs, Alfonso Bassols and Javier Faus as a hybrid fund of funds and co-investment platform. Aldea Tech Fund I invested in 28 funds run by 23 emerging managers and co-invested in nine growth-stage companies. In April 2025 it announced €50M of a €125M target for Aldea Tech Fund II, which invests mainly in micro-VC funds under €100M and nano-VCs under €25M, with a minority for co-investments and secondaries. Its management company, Aldea Ventures SGEIC, S.A., was registered with the CNMV in October 2023.

Investment thesis

Backs specialist European pre-seed and seed managers and co-invests in founders across computing, biology and physical systems; selective US exposure through European micro-funds with US connections.
