Overview

Sienna Venture Capital was created in 2022 within Sienna Investment Managers, then the alternative asset management platform of Groupe Bruxelles Lambert (GBL), and is led by founding partner Isabelle Amiel, who previously co-founded La Maison Partners. Its first fund, Startup Nation, invests in Israeli technology companies; GBL committed €100M and the fund was raising from family offices, financial institutions and corporates towards a €200M target (2023). It typically invests $5–10M in early-growth and growth-stage companies, leading or co-leading rounds, in AI, cybersecurity, agrifoodtech, digital health, mobility and industry 4.0. Exits include Unleash (acquired by Zendesk, 2025) and DustPhotonics (acquired by Credo, 2026). GBL’s 2026 half-year report still carries its Sienna Venture Capital position (€77.0M at 30 June 2026) after GBL sold Sienna Gestion and Sienna Private Credit to Malakoff Humanis.
