ABOUT
The Business Angels Club Berlin-Brandenburg e.V. (BACB) grew out of a founder-investor network set up by Investitionsbank Berlin in 1998, became an independent association in 2002 and was formally founded in 2004. Its 140+ members are entrepreneurs and managers who invest their own capital, typically EUR 10k to 50k per ticket (median about EUR 25k), in early-stage startups from the DACH region selected through a pre-check, screening, steering and PitchingDay process. Members also invest through their own investment company, BACB Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH (Berlin Angel Fund), which writes tickets of up to EUR 200k. In 2024 the club brokered almost 130 angel tickets into 29 startups, and the Berlin Angel Fund invested about EUR 1M in 17 startups.
INVESTMENT THESIS
Pre-seed and seed startups from the DACH region with a scalable business model, from consumer goods to deep tech; dedicated focus clusters for health (BACB Health Angels), tech and consumer; particular interest in first-time founders and founders with diverse backgrounds.
