Overview
AtlasInvest was founded in 2007 by Marcel van Poecke after years of growing and operating a refinery business, and its holding company, AtlasInvest Holding BV, is registered in Brussels. It invests across the energy supply chain, from exploration and production to midstream and downstream, with a growing focus on renewables and the digitisation of the energy sector, and also holds a sizeable real-estate portfolio through Beryllus. It prefers majority positions with board participation and hands-on support. Through a partnership with the Carlyle Group it also manages the Carlyle International Energy Partners funds, which the site says manage more than USD 7bn.
Investment thesis
Invests mainly in the global energy sector, increasingly in the energy transition and energy digitisation, typically as a majority investor that drives change through hands-on portfolio support and board participation.
