Overview
IBG Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt mbH, founded in 1996 and wholly owned by the Land Sachsen-Anhalt, is the state's venture capital instrument. Its IBG-Fonds (Risikokapitalfonds I–IV and the IBG Innovationsfonds) are financed by the Land and EU structural funds and invest in innovative technology SMEs with a seat or site in Sachsen-Anhalt, from seed to growth, usually as minority open or silent stakes alongside private investors. Since 2015 the funds have been managed by bmp Ventures AG under a Geschäftsbesorgungsvertrag; bmp won the mandate again in a Europe-wide tender in 2023.

Technology-oriented start-ups and SMEs in Sachsen-Anhalt in energy, machinery and plant engineering, resource efficiency, health and medicine, mobility and logistics, chemistry and bioeconomy, food and agriculture, plus ICT, media and key enabling technologies; minority stakes, holding periods of five to ten years.
