ABOUT

VORNvc is a Dortmund-based venture capital fund managed by VORNvc Management GmbH and launched by five Sparkassen from the eastern Ruhr area (Dortmund, Hamm, An der Lippe, UnnaKamen, An Volme und Ruhr). Its first closing in July 2025 raised more than €32 million, including €10 million from NRW.BANK, and a second closing in September 2026 lifted it above €41 million, with Sparkasse Paderborn-Detmold-Höxter and the Wortmann Stiftung joining; the target is €50 million. It invests up to €6 million at pre-seed to Series A in technology startups from the region. The four-person management team previously ran three fund generations of SeedCapital Dortmund.

INVESTMENT THESIS

Pools capital of regional Sparkassen and entrepreneurs to back technology-oriented startups, mainly from the eastern Ruhr area and South Westphalia, whose products or business models contribute to transforming the regional economy; invests up to €6m in equity and quasi-equity, as lead or co-investor across several rounds, and connects startups with the regional Mittelstand.
